Ven. Sujiva is a Malaysian Chinese meditation master, writer, and poet. He graduated with honors in Agricultural Science from the University of Malaysia in 1975, and was ordained shortly thereafter. He learned from and practiced with many distinguished teachers in Malaysia, Thailand and Myanmar, most notably with Sayadaw U Pandita.

In 1982, Ven. Sujiva founded Santisukharama Meditation Centre, which is situated in an old rubber plantation bordered Singapore in Kota Tinggi, Malaysia. Guest teachers of the Mahasi Sayadaw tradition conduct regular retreats at the centre, where courses in intensive Satipatthana Vipassana meditation are taught.

Ven. Sujiva is fluent in 6 languages, including English, Malay, Burmese, Chinese and Thai. Beginning in 1995, he started teaching overseas for more than 10,000 students. Ven. Sujiva has since taught in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Europe, the United States, and Brazil. He also conducted an Abhidhamma course in the United States (1999). Amid his extensive guiding meditation engagements, he has authored a number of books on Vipassana, Metta Meditation and Buddhist poetry.

Ven. Sujiva has vast experience in teaching meditation and is very skilled in training both beginners and experienced yogis in various meditation traditions.
