This is one of several talks given by Sayadaw U Jotika in the Mangala Vihara Buddhist Society in Singapore in 2003.
In this talk, Sayadaw elaborates upon the lasting benefits of practicing meditation and why everybody should incorporate meditation as an integral part of their daily lives. By sharing his spiritual journey growing up as a man who has studied many religions, Sayadaw demonstrates how meditation enabled him to find the answers he was seeking.
Sayadaw U Jotika was born into a non-Buddhist family on 5 August 1947, educated in a Roman Catholic missionary school, studied Electrical Engineering and read widely in Western and Eastern philosophy and psychology. Sayadaw has been living for extended periods in solitude before moving and staying in Yangon, Myanmar.
